“What you do to the least of my brethren, you do unto Me.” -- Matthew, Chapter 25, 34-46.
Most, if not all Christians know the meaning of this Proverb. Feeding a homeless person or helping a lost child would be part of this Proverb, as both could be considered one of, “the least of My brethren.”
But, what about 45?
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.”
This, of course, speaks of an act of omission. If you see, are aware of, and can do something and you don't, then you also didn't do it to God. I believe most Christians are completely unaware of #45.
Let's take it further.
What if one is helping, “the least of His brethren,” the ones with a physical or psychological hurt and another person tries to prevent that person from doing what is right for these, which certainly are, “the least of His brethren,” does not, then, that person also fall into the category, “you did not do for one of the least of these?”
Of course, then, #46 will come into play when one reaches his final judgment.
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, . . .”
