You Are A Young Female And Don't Follow This Safety Tip

Thanks to Pe Thames for posting this on Facebook.

You Put Your Feet Up On The Dashboard.

This is what happens when the airbag goes off and you have your feet up on the dashboard.

No explanation is needed, as the picture of the injuries tells it all.

(A big thank you to Wendy Nielson, a FB friend, for bringing this to my attention).

You Believe Anything CNN Broadcast

CNN posted a misleading article on Facebook regarding the shooting by police in Scranton, PA of a man wielding a knife, as most of their stories and articles are.
I tried to post a picture of a man's back with severe knife wounds to show why police shoot a person that is threatening them with a knife.  Facebook would not allow it to be printed as they deemed it to be nudity and against their community standards.
Pictures of the back of men in a Speedo bathing suit is fine, but a man's wounded back isn't.  Why?

My point was to show why police will shoot a man wielding a knife in a threatening manner or attempting to assault them with a knife.
This picture has been shown to police officers during training.

As A Police Officer You Don't Defend Yourself

"The New world order Goons are buying the Democrats high-intensity lasers so they can Blind Police."

Whenever anyone tries to blind a police officer, which is a serious physical injury, the officer has a right under the law, even a duty to defend himself, up to and including the use of deadly force. Why? Because it's his duty to stay whole so he can continue to protect the law-abiding citizens in his precinct which is part of the oath that he took when he accepted the job.  To do less is a dereliction of duty.

You Drive Away Before You Know Where Your Children Are

Situations that I'm personally familiar with.

The baby was playing in the driveway.  The father, who just had an argument with his wife, leaves in a hurry and runs over and kills his child.  They could never get reconciled and his wife divorced him.

Good Humor truck driver doesn't check to see if all the children are clear of his truck and drives away, killing the baby that had crawled under the truck. The parents could no longer stay at the location, so they sold their house and moved.

An idea would be to keep your wheels straight when you park.

You Think That It Takes More Than One Person To Pick Up A Pizza.

This afternoon I went downtown to pick up a pizza. Although it was a sidewalk pick-up everyone there was in groups of two or more.  Why?

The Coronavirus is transmitted through human contact, so the more people that congregate in a single place the better chance of catching Covid-19 or infecting someone else.  A person can have the virus and transmit it to another without knowing that they have it, as it takes a few days for the symptoms to manifest themselves.  No one was practicing the 6-foot rule and I was the only one with a mask on.  (I didn't mind too much about the two in back of me in line as they were both attractive, charming and talkative young females).

Monday morning I went grocery shopping.  Most of the shoppers were there by themself except for one couple.  Why can't only one do the grocery shopping?  All of us others were.

By going to an activity with all your friend when only one is necessary to perform the chore/job merely endangers yourselves and others and why bring your kids with you.  That new disease is really rough on young children.

My wife came with me, but she stayed in the car away from the group of people in front of the pizza parlor.

As the country is starting to open up we should still be practicing the safety rules so there isn't a spike in new cases that will force the country to be shut down again. --  Stay safe.

Note:  I do not infer that it's never appropriate to have more than one person per family in a line at one time. Based on the situation, location, and safety factors, you should not leave, especially a child in the car or away from you. The safety of your loved ones or of a friend should be the determining factor.

You Don't Have A Code Word

A few days ago I met a neighbor's son.  We only had a brief conversation as his dad reminded him that they were late in picking up his daughter.  I don't know where his daughter was or her age and those facts are not germane to this Post.  What is important is that a daughter, like all children, doesn't get in a car with a stranger, especially one that doesn't know the Code Word.

Both the child and parent should never divulge the Code Word unless necessary, so the child can be picked up by a trusted person.  Although this has been around for many years, it's a good idea to repeat it for those who may not be aware of it.

The important thing is to convince the child never to say it, but that only the adult that will pick up the child will say it.  Why?

Pedophiles are very cunning people.  Many know of this safety factor and therefore will try to trick the child in revealing the Code Word by telling the child that he was sent by his mother and that she can't get a ride home unless she (the child) knows the code word; thereby, revealing it to the pedophile who will then confirm it; putting the child at ease and then able to get the child in the car.

Of course, unless it's a life or death situation, a parent should never ask someone to pick up their child that the child doesn't know and trust.

You Don't Report Child Abuse

The following will seem like I'm bragging, but I'm not as it's all factual. The reason will be understood in the summary.

I've lectured for 11-years to just about every discipline that is responsible for children: police, firemen, EMT's, teachers, medical personnel. and at colleges and universities in the Master's program for Criminal Justice professionals, all on Child Abuse. All of these people were Mandatory Reporters, i.e., if they didn't report child abuse to the proper agency or take care of the child themselves they could be disciplined and/or arrested, which in one case, a teacher was, based on my recommendation.
Just because you're not a mandatory reporter doesn't mean that you do not have a moral obligation to do anything about trying to help the child from further abuse.

So what's my point?

If you don't report to the proper authorities what you know or suspect that a relative or neighbor is abusing their children, I strongly believe that you are complicit in the pain and suffering of that child.

You Don't Occassionally Say, "Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock is the same amount of time to say that follows the 2-second Rule and is equivalent as the distance of one car length for each 10 mph of speed.  While traveling at highway speed, it's nearly impossible to judge one car length for each 10 mph of speed.  This makes it easy to avoid tailgating.

How do you use, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock?  Merely pick a point in the road where the back of the car in front of you is.  Then start saying Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock in your normal speech speed.  If you've passed that point before you said the second Tock, then you were tailgating and you were putting yourself and the passengers in your car and in the car ahead of you in danger.  You will eventually subconsciously determine the safe distance between you and the car in front of you without constantly having to say, in your mind, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock.

At dusk and night time:  Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock = 3-second Rule.

Wet, slippery roads:  Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock = 4-second Rule.

Icy roads:  Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock = 5-second Rule.

Safety Rule #1.  If it's dark with wet, icy roads while pouring rain or heavy blowing snow: stay home.
Safety Rule #2.  Revert to Safety Rule #1.
Safety Rule #3.  Revert to Safety Rule #1.

Passengers are responsible for their own safety; therefore, it is imperative that they also do the Tick Tock.  If the driver is tailgating, then it's the passengers duty to tell the driver that he is.  No excuses.  If you didn't and end up dead, or wind up in a hospital it's as much your fault as the driver.

Don't be a cowardly passenger.  It's your life he's playing with.

You Don't Flush First.

Gm York  is a Facebook friend.  While several of us were discussing the dangers associated with the Bottle Bomb, he related the following that happened to him.

.A (sort of) related story. Many years ago I was cutting the grass and hit some type of spore. All of a sudden I had a hard time breathing and my vision was going. I was near my front door and got into the shower -- still dressed. Dona, (his wife), called the rescue squad (pre 911 days). When they arrived she would not let them get me out of the shower until they contacted the hospital, via Radio, for instruction.

The instruction was to keep me under the running water for (I forget how long). Then right to the ER (emergency room) -- don't bother to change ---- come in wet.
I was treated and admitted over night for observation. The doctor said, "be nice to your wife. You're alive because of her."
.
The point. In some situations getting to the ER is secondary. Getting "flushed" is primary. True in my case. True in your example. True in many Contamination cases.  (Posted with permission of the author).

You Let Your Government Take Away Your Self-Defense Tool.

Borrowed and Reposted from a Friend.

Why Carry a Gun?

My old Grandpa said to me, 'Son, there comes a time in every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take a whoopin'.' I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry; I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone; I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me. Police protection is an oxymoron: Free citizens must protect themselves because police do not protect you from crime; they just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take a whoopin'!

A LITTLE GUN HISTORY:

PLEASE DON'T THINK FOR A MOMENT, THAT THIS COULDN'T HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY ALSO !!!!!!·

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control: From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control: From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938:From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935: From 1948 to· 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964:· From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970:From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956: From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

56 million defenseless people were rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. With guns, we are 'citizens'; without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WW II, the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

Gun owners in the USA are the largest armed forces in the World! If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends. ·
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES A GUN TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD!
SWITZERLAND 'S GOVERNMENT ISSUES AND TRAINS EVERY ADULT IN THE USE OF A RIFLE.
·
SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

IT'S A NO BRAINER! DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

Site Owner's Notes:

1.  America has the Second Amendment codified in the Bill of Rights which is a part of our Constitution.  Why doesn't your country have such a right?

2.  The most murders in America are in states and cities with the most draconian anti-gun laws.  This is also true for many countries.  Switzerland, the safest country in the world, is where every man is give a gun by the government.

3.  Many who live in countries run by dictators say that it's against the law and that guns cost too much.  Guns are free as I've stated many times.  Just kill a dictator's goon and take his gun.  The Poles in the Warsaw ghetto got their guns by killing German soldiers, (dictator's goons).  This allowed them to hold off the German army for a month.  (During WWII).

4.  Liberals in America and Liberal governments in other countries say that, "Merely pass more gun laws and we'll be safer."  Let's examine the staatistics.

Murder by firearms per 100,00 population:

  Honduras -  66.64  (Civilians can't have guns.)
  Venezuela - 39.00   (Civilians can't have guns.)
  Guatemala - 29.62  (Civilians can't have guns.)
United States - 3.60  (Civilians CAN have guns.)  (If we took away the three cities, such as Chicago, with    the strictest gun laws we'd probably be less than 1.00 per 100,000.
Switzerland - Every adult HAS a gun.  Lowest gun related deaths in the world.

5.  All of this Post pertains to every person who loves freedom throughout the world . . . not only the United States.

You Overfill Your Gas Tank

When the gas pump clicks off automatically, DO NOT add a little more gas.  You need extra room in your gas tank to allow the gasoline to expand.  Topping off your gas tank is bad for the environment and your wallet.  Any additional gas you try to pump into your tank may be drawn into the vapor line and fed back into the station's storage tanks.  (Of course, you're still paying for it).

If you top off your tank, the extra gas may evaporate into your vehicle's vapor collection system.  The system may become fouled and will not work properly causing your vehicle to run poorly, have high gas emissions, and reduce your miles per gallon.  Also, the passenger compartment may have a gasline odor and in worst cases, the car to catch fire.

The gas nozzle automatically clicks off when your gas tank is full.  Did you read that last sentence?  The gas nozzle automatically clicks off when your gas tank is full.  It's full.  Don't try to put more gas in the tank.

You Don't Attack, Attack, Attack.

Orlando, Florida:  49 killed, 52 injured.
Brussels, Belgium: 32 killed, 300 injured.
Paris, France:  128 killed, injured?
San Bernardino, California.  36 killed, injured? and
Kenya, Africa: 148 killed, 102 injured.

On this web site, on October 27, 2014 I wrote an article titled, "You Have No Means For Self Defense."
On April 6, 2015, I wrote about the slaughter at the college in Kenya where there were 800 students.  Like the 250-300 people in the bar in Orlando, they were mostly young, strong, agile young men.  Among the above venues, and those others too numerous to mention. were thousands of able-bodied men; probably many ex-military personnel.  What did they do when the killing started--nothing.  Why?
We can no longer be complacent.  It matters not where we might find ourselves; whether in a bar or in a movie theater, (Aurora, CO): in a school, (Columbine or Newtown).  Can we expect very young children to attack? but should we expect young, strong men to attack? Certainly.

We must all start to review in our minds what we would do, no, what I will do in the event if I'm caught in a similar situation like above.  At the moment you will not have time to formulate a plan, think it out, and then put it into play.  You must have it ingrained in your mind today, and then refine your plan periodically so when the situation presents itself you will act immediately.  Several years ago a professional skier broke his leg in an accident.  Having been laid up for a year, he ran the slalom course, in his mind, everyday.  His next competition, remember he hadn't skied for a whole year, he came in first.

"I can't attack the terrorist all by myself."  On 9/11 only one passenger out of the four planes said, "Let's Roll."  When one starts others will follow.  The unruly passenger on another plane was attacked by one passenger, then others seeing, also jumped on him and helped to subdue the unruly one.  Yes you can.
What if one of the 400 killed in the actions above was killed during his attempt to subdue the terrorist?
What is the 500+ wounded, some severely, thinking about their inaction today?

"But I don't have a weapon."  Yes you do.  You're in a bar drinking beer which comes in a bottle.  Have you never played baseball!  Can't you throw it at the terrorist?  Close by, break the bottle and jab it into his head from behind with the jagged glass edge.  Hit him with a chair.  Throw the chair at him.  Use your pocket knife and give him a tracheotomyNo weapon, no problem.  Ever been in a fist fight?  MMA fighters use fists and feet; use yours.  Swift kick in the small of his back will cripple him.  Your turn to figure what you'll do based on your strengths.  Immediate, violent, vicious attack, attack, attack until you either subdue or are killed.

What benefit will this provide?  I content that it will cut down the deaths and injuries by at least 80%.  Why not try it.  What have you got to lose--you're dead anyway.

You Don't Leave Space Between Cars

This morning while approaching an intersection the car in front of me drove past the stop sign and was partially into the intersection.  I noticed a car on the main road wanting to make a left turn.  As usual, I leave some space between my car and the car in front of me so if he has to, he can back up a little.  Well this guy was well into the intersection and started to back up; as I wanted to give him more room, I wanted to back up also.  Well, Mr. "Let Me Get As Close As Possible" was approximately one inch from my car; so, I couldn't back up.  It was all sorted out eventually and we were on our way -- finally.  The driver in front and the one in back of me were both stupid and/or ignorant for causing a needless problem.
It's important to always leave enough space so the front car can back up to behind the stop sign: where he should have stopped originally.  If the car in front of you is half way past the stop sign/red light white line then leave one-half a car length between your car and the one in front of you.  If you're the third, fourth, etc., car in back of the second car you should leave approximately one-half a car length between your car and the one in front of you.  Probably even more important to leave that space is if an emergency occurs.  That space will allow you to drive around the car in front and escape the danger.  Situations like these don't happen very often, but they do happen.  All cars in line are bumper to bumper waiting for the light to change.  An old car in the line catches on fire and you can't escape because your car is jammed in the line.  You jump out and see your car destroyed when the fire hits his gas tank and explodes.  The car in front of you rear-ends the one in front of him.  That driver gets out and starts shooting at the car directly in front of you.  As he's in front of the car in front of you and firing towards the rear puts you in the line of fire also, but you're jammed in . . . you're trying to crawl over the center console to escape out of the passenger-side door.  But a bullet killed your wife in the passenger seat, so now you're not only trying to crawl over the center console but also a corpse.  You see traffic stopped up ahead on the highway.  You slow down and drive to within inches of the car in front of you before you stop, of course, the car following parks his car inches from yours.  You then notice an exit just up ahead that would have allowed you to leave the highway, take a side street and get home without a hassle; but, you're jammed in so you sit there for a few hours.  Always leave room so you and/or the other driver can escape a bad situation.

You Leave a Child or Animal in a Closed Car

How many times and how many people have to remind you of this?  Of course this doesn't pertain to your Personal Safety but that of a child and animal. Most people think that we're only talking about heat, but what about cold?  Are you positive that nothing will happen to you to delay your return to your vehicle?  Most people think that as long as a window is open, usually slightly, that everything will be fine.  Two windows for cross ventilation is better, but is it enough?  Even with two windows open the heat in the car can build to over 100 degrees.  In the cold, what degree does it have to be and for how long before your child gets hypothermia?  What about frostbite, frostbitten skin, trench foot, among others such as eye injury.  Is your dog one that lives outside in extremely cold weather or is it a small or hairless dog?  A few months back I ran into two situations, in the same week, relating to heat, with a child and a dog.  I was able to put my hand inside the cars to check the temperature.  In one situation I opened the door a little to let out heat until the owner arrived.  Did you notify someone that you left your child or dog in the car and the time you'll get back to the car?  What if something happens to you and you can't get back - your child or dog dies.  What if you get back in good time but your baby is missing, kidnapped or your dog is dognapped?  Wouldn't your child or dog be better off with you?  Wouldn't they much rather be with you, instead of feeling abandoned?

My Condolence To Kenya; And Some Sticky Points

  • The following points are my views, and only mine, regarding the killings at the university in Northern Kenya, but could also apply to any similar situation.
There are two facts that we know, a physical fact and an emotional fact. The physical fact is that no one had a gun. The emotional/psychological fact is that generally no one will act unless someone else does first.
Some background: No one on the three planes that crashed into the twin towers and the Pentagon in the United States, on 9/11, did anything, did not act. Only when one person on the fourth plane knew of the exigent circumstance when told by his wife decided to do something by getting help from the other passengers and prevented more deaths. Now going back to Kenya, no one took any action. What if all 250+ victims, 148 dead and those injured had immediately and viciously attacked the four terrorists with anything they could have gotten their hands on? Doesn't Kenya have rocks, sticks, broken glass, etc. that could have been used as weapons? You constantly see on TV where fighters use their hands and feet to knock out their opponents; they don't use any weapons. I will venture a guess that if the students had, the outcome would have been far better..

You Have No Means For Self-Defense

The most efficient tool for personal self defense is a weapon.  The most efficient weapon is the gun.  Every able-bodied person, of sound mind, in the world should own one.  It doesn't matter whether your government says or has laws against you owning one.  Most people in the world are slaves as they have no way to defend themselves and must obey their master/government.  Governments disarm their citizens because they are afraid of them as they (and they know) are lousy, greedy, power hungry, elitist, psychotic leaders.  These leaders believe that they have the right to do what they want to their subjects.  I call you subjects because only in a free country are there citizens.
Are you afraid of your government?  You should be, as in the last century, governments, after disarming their citizens, murdered 170,000,000 of you.  More of you are killed by your government than all the enemies in all the wars.  If most of the criminals in your countries can obtain guns, despite all the laws, why can't you?  Criminals are smarter than most as they don't tell the government that they have guns.  Why would you?   The irony is that the educated people should know better but they either do nothing or feel secure, but they are the ones in the most danger.  "It can't happen to me.  I'm educated."  Cambodia, 1975-1979.  "During that time, about 1.5 million Cambodians out of a total population of 7 to 8 million died of starvation, execution, disease or overwork. ... The Khmer Rouge, in their attempt to socially engineer a classless peasant society, took particular aim at intellectuals, city residents, ethnic Vietnamese, civil servants and religious leaders."  (Source:  http://www.history.com/topics/pol-pot).  Isn't that what the American and most European governments are trying to do today?  Attempting to socially engineer a new society?   Muslim jihadists are trying to send you back to the 7th century.  Should be "fun" times.

You Leave Your Keys in the Ignition

"Many auto thefts are crimes of 'opportunity.' Leaving the keys in your car (even a 'hidden' spare key) greatly increases your chances of having your car stolen. Leaving your vehicle unoccupied with the engine running, even for a minute, is illegal in itself; but it greatly increases the chance that your car will be stolen. It is truly a helpless feeling to watch your car being driven away by a total stranger as you stand 10 feet away at an ATM or mailbox. Take your keys with you even for quick trips. Needless to say, this is especially true if you have children or pets in the vehicle."

You Don't Secure Your Garbage Can

I, like many, live near a wooded area where bears live.  The right side of my property borders on a 770 acre game preserve, therefore I keep my garbage can inside my garage.  I spoke with a lady yesterday who also lives in my town who told me that although she secures her garbage can her neighbor doesn't.  For the last two days a bear walked across her driveway going to a "picnic" at her neighbors unsecured garbage can.  Last week a black bear was in the street in front of my house.  After examining my neighbor's car, he probably didn't like the make and model, he ambled down the street, up the driveway of one of my neighbors, two houses away, trashed his outside garbage can and left through his backyard.  To his credit he, my neighbor not the bear, now puts his garbage can in his garage.  It should go without saying (then why am I saying it) that encounters between humans and bears never seem to go well.

You Pick Up A Plastic Bottle Bomb.

(Note:  You may want to forward this to your friends and family.)

Everyone needs to know this and be careful!!!

Vandals are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you'll never make it!!!
If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with enough force to remove some of your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well.
Don't pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc.

Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a CAP.  A little Drano. A little water. A small piece of foil.  Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.
